Career DevelopmentMedical Terminology Introduction
Introductory course for those wanting to enter the health industry (hospitals or clinics) in a clerical capacity. Possible job titles include Receptionists, Clerks, Personal Assistants, and Ward Assistants etc. Participants will be able to use appropriate medical terminology in oral and written communication, spell and pronounce basic medical terminology and more. Covers: Muscular & skeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary and kidney and digestive. Successful completion of the Introduction and Advanced courses can result in students gaining a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the unit BSBMED301B Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately which contributes to the Certificate III in Business Administration (medical). Receptionist & Office Administration Training
Want to become a receptionist or gain employment in office administration? Learn the basic skills required in an office environment and gain confidence in these areas. Includes professional telephone technique and customer service skills. Assistance will also be provided with job interview techniques and resume writing, and opportunities exist for students to gain experience in a university office environment. The keyboarding practice covered in each session can result in participants obtaining the nationally accredited keyboarding competency BSBITU102A Develop keyboard skills. This course provides a pathway into the Certificate III in Business Administration. Certificates supplied upon successful completion. Req: pad & pen.

The CPR and Level 1 courses are included within the Level 2 course so these are not pre-requisites for the Level 2 Course. Level 1 & 2 certificates are current for 3 years, providing that the CPR component is renewed every 12 months.
The level 1 & 2 First Aid Certificates are accredited through Swinburne and the CPR certificate is accredited through Royal Life.
