Auslan – Sign Language – Beginners

(16 hours) Covers the basics of Auslan, the recognized language of the Australian deaf community. Ideal for those wishing to communicate with other signers socially and for service providers such as medical, police, emergency and welfare workers. Covers numbers, the alphabet and approximately 150 everyday signs.

Requirements: Pad and pen. Participants are encouraged to purchase AUSLAN Dictionary (available from the Monash University Bookshop).

(20 hours) The Short Courses Centre is excited to introduce this new course into the 2013 brochure. Suitable for anyone wanting help with pronunciation and grammar while learning English as their second language. All materials provided in class. Italian

 

(20 hours) Focusing mainly on speaking and listening skills this course covers vocabulary for common situations to enable participants to express themselves. Includes: asking for directions, explaining how you feel, giving personal information, travel, restaurants, shopping, describing daily activities and much more. Gain insight into a new culture to assist with travelling in Italy.
