Materials are approximately $50. Students in the advanced classes are encouraged to purchase their own tools/materials.

Jewellery Making - Silver Smithing

Introduction - Make rings, bracelets and other jewellery items using copper, brass and silver. You will handcraft a sterling silver ring and also learn how to make a linked silver bracelet before working on your own project. Req: Notepad and pen, safety glasses, protective clothing & footwear, dust mask, money for silver. (15 hours)

Gemstone Setting

Learn basic gemstone techniques necessary for cabochon setting of your jewellery items. Handcraft a silver pendant or ring containing cabochon stones before working on your own projects. Also covers tension setting. Prereq: introductory silver smithing course or equivalent skills. Req: Cabochon gemstones, money for silver, pad, pen & safety glasses. (15 hours)

Enamelling

Learn the ancient art of cloisonné enamelling on jewellery items. A practical course designed to teach you about modern enamels, their availability, metal and enamel preparation, and kiln operation, applications of enamels onto metal and workshop safety. Requirements: Notepad and pen, safety glasses, protective clothing & footwear, dust mask. (15 hours)
